Definitely the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. I booked three nights one week before the trip, which was planned for my mom’s 60th birthday. Mr. Chen who works at the reception was always being helpful, arranging everything nicely and smoothly for us, confirming everything details in advance. And all the staff we met during the stay were really the ones who made our trip unforgettable. My family really enjoyed the stay. The dinner experience is perfect!

    None. Everything is great!

Amazing dinners included, multiple course Japanese meal. Breakfast is also in included and delicious. Staff is as good as it gets and the shuttle is a real bonus- note that it does come to the train station and May align with your arrival. We walked from the train, it took about 20 minutes. We had a perfect view of the Torii gate from our room- spectacular.

Disappointed that the bathing area did not allow men to experience the outside pools except for very early in the morning.

The hotel was a good find after we discovered that rooms on the island were scarce. Our room at this large hotel overlooked the island with a beautiful view. The shuttle service to and from the train and ferry was good. Our two dinners were quite good. The breakfast buffet was okay, but it would be good to have more fresh fruit. Our room was large and comfortable and we enjoyed having a balcony.

Unlike our very good Japanese and Italian dinners, breakfast was more like a conference hotel offering...quantity but not quality.

    10BrianPosted on: 10-19-2025

Food was great and the amenities were good. They have night cruises and shuttle boats to the island.

One of the onsen baths was a bit small. But the other one was ok. But since they take turns between men and women's areas we could try both. The futon was a bit thin. It was ok but a little hard to sleep on

This facility is beautiful and at a great location. The staff were fantastic, and I loved the public bath! We loved the night cruise to the Tori Gate. I do not eat fish or seafood so the reception area made sure I had a vegetarian meal for dinner. The meal was an exceptionally good. And the buffet breakfast had a lot of options. Chen was great. Booked us a taxi and made sure where it should go for our dinner cruise. He spoke great English.

Our first night there there were 400 teenagers running around with no chaperone. I was tired and wanted to relax.

The best view of the Itsukushima shrine and it's oceanfront Torii gate, as well the whole of Miyajima island and mountain landscape, right infront of yours room balcony! The available private onsen has the same wonderful view plus the enjoynment of soaking in the hot mineral water! The breakfast is buffet type with extensive range of choices. While dinner time is the japanese course menu. Unfortunately for both the cuisine stays the same, while for breakfast it is undestandable, but for dinner they only changed the appetizer, the other dishes stayed exactly the same, so it could be bland taste if overstaying more than 1-2 nights.

Amazing location and view from balcony at dawn: worth the fee, night cruse to the Miyajima shine very special - take it and worth every yen. . This hotel dates back from the 1980/90’s I reckon, but hasn’t been updated since and it shows. Shuttle bus good as its location near the public slferrunto Miyajima.

Afraid a bit if a list.Rooms basic. More 3* than 4*. Public spaces very dated and felt inspirational.Air con noisy as it’s centralized. Bathroom dated, cramped and old fashioned color. Towels small for a 4* hotel. Toiletries only ok.Half board is very Japanese and fish orientated (which luckily we like) but having sampled other Japanese style hotels with similar menus, you can spot where savings are being made out of season,Not great that staff start a major clear up of dishes etc way before last orders, when many people are still eating their dinners. Feels like a works like canteen as a result and staff driven by need to clean up almost before if not as soon as people have almost finished dining. It’s almost that The practicalities of getting the place cleared takes precedence over the guests.Swimming pool closed and pool green with algae. No bar service. Never mentioned when booking. Unlike other hotels no provisions for vending for wine/beer by machine (as a minimum). No bat service from 9pm (not sure the bar opens at all on sept)

Property is run down. Pool was closed. Good view but mostly to a construction.

    Food was bad.

    10ChandraPosted on: 6-7-2025

Beautiful views of Miyajima! Private onsen. Breakfast buffet was awesome!

It was a bit far from either train stations, so had to do a bit of walking.

    10rebeccaPosted on: 5-23-2025

Location. The food was amazing. Very authentic Japanese experience. The evening boat ride was a nice time but short.

    3JonPosted on: 5-20-2025

Could not fall asleep due to room being so hot. The hotel staff did not care

AC was centrally managed. Top floors were extremely hot. No way to escape the heat. Rooms were hotter than outdoors.

    8SuePosted on: 4-30-2025

Great location, lovely views across to the island and friendly staff

The bar opening hours were erratic and limited. On both evenings we were unable to get a drink before dinner as bat was already closed. Maybe Japanese people don’t want a pre-prandial but there’s a lovely big bar area with beautiful views and it wasn’t really open. Given the location it was a shame not to have a view from the onsen

    10AlexPosted on: 4-29-2025

This is a wonderful old-fashioned Japanese style hotel. There are barely any foreign tourists around, so if you are looking for an authentic local experience, this place is a must visit. The private onsens are amazing, but you need to reserve 2-3 weeks in advance.

    10BarryPosted on: 4-28-2025

Staff upgraded our room from mountain view to ocean view. Staff showed up to lay out futon beds. Tea and snacks were much appreciated. Beautiful view of water and Miyajima island. Free shuttle bus to train station was valuable since hotel is not that close. Wonderful breakfast buffet with fresh onigiri and great variety of dishes. Night cruise to torii gate was memorable. Nice gift shop staffed after completion of night cruise allowed us to get souvenirs.

Distance from train station discouraged us from walking, but shuttle was convenient for our schedule. Not many restaurants close by. Additional charges for onsen which we didn't use.

    6MaudePosted on: 4-28-2025

the room was nice, big and clean with sea view and balcony.Staff really tries their best and are very friendly but seem slightly panicked when dealing with non-Japanese speakers

Location : it is beautifully located on the waterfront but nothing is done with it . Open terrace as well as pool were closed, impossible to walk along the river. The hotel is a massive 80's style, slightly tired hotel on the waterfront. The hotel is actually quite far from the station and ferry : about 20mn walk which we had to do a few times because the shuttle is unreliable and does not connect with the trains from HiroshimaWe had the kaisekiryori dinner which was our worst meal in the whole trip. Nicely presented and looked pretty, but the flavours were bland and the textures very slimy and gloopy. The onsen was OK but no massage chair anywhere, nor a selction of products like we found elsewhere. Towels are not provided and you have to take the ones from your bedroom.

    10PaulPosted on: 4-27-2025

The view was breathtaking. The room was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and friendly; they will make your stay special. Breakfast was delicious. Also, it is easy to access, there is shuttle that will pick you up from the local JR station to the hotel and back to catch a boat to Itsukushima. Until next time!
